Network System Administrator (1)
Applications are invited for a suitable and qualified Tanzanian Resident to fill in the above post.
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing and optimizing the school IT network, thus contributing to the development of school’s IT infrastructure. The ideal person is motivated, self-driven, has excellent problem solving skills and be able to work in a fast paced multi-cultural environment.
Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to assist the ICT Manager in the following:
• Routine hardware maintenance of servers, computers and network accessories
• Data back-up & security
• Troubleshooting network issues
• Account Management–
• Anti-virus and malware
• Email, systems, internet & intranet support
• Vendor liaison
• VOIP cross-campus telephone system maintenance
• Evaluation and inspection of hardware purchases etc.
Qualification / Experience
● Degree/Diploma in Computer Engineering with networking certifications (CNA), preferably Cisco.
● Broad knowledge on Windows, and Apple platforms, both Servers and work stations.
● Knowledge of switching, routing in LAN/WAN is a must.
● Good knowledge in TCP/IP
● At least 3-4 years experience in managing medium to large networks
● Experience managing technically-knowledgeable users' desktops in an Educational environment
● Specific knowledge in IP Routing and Traffic control
● Knowledge of the installation and maintenance of VoIP networks and systems
● Experience with the care and feeding of Active Directory
Additional Requirements
● Fluent English and Kiswahili speaker/reader/writer
● Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
● Ability to work independently in an organized manner, conscious of time.
● Strong analytical skills.
